i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

Hey, Smash,

Another birthday.

I still have that photo-booth picture of you that you gave me after we saw 'Wanda' at the cinema. You were 8 or 9 years old. Now you're facing your 30s. I think of you lots, and your Mum. I wonder how things are for you, and of course, where you are.

I hope you're happy and busy and loved in your daily life. You're greatly loved in the life that's missing you so much, by many, many people.

It's nearly midnight and I'm taking your smile to bed. I'll send you smiles and birthday wishes in my dreams. I hope you get them.

Much love,
Faye xxxx

To my dearest friend Ashley NOW please take note of the time, that's even if this "posts" I wrote something earlier in the year and I can't see it on here but the reason why I'm asking for the time to be noted is because the reason why I am still awake is because for the last few hours I have had to explain to Zen just what happened. Up until now whenever he asked where you are I have been able to get away with "I'm not sure darling" followed by questions like "Can't you ring him and ask him", "Ring Aunty Jeni and get the number" but now at 12 and a half I can't get away with it anymore. Zen told me of a memory he has of you I am driving you are in the passenger seat and he is in his car seat in the back and Coldplays Yellow is playing on the stereo and you are singing really loud.....its true look how they shine for you look how they shine for you (he was 4) it's almost as beautiful a song as our "bubbling stream" now that could have made us famous but we choose not to be, how cool are we? I'm still lost at times without you but I know that I will be ok because I always remind myself.....some people never have a Ashley in there life and I am so greatful for the 25 years we did get together. I'll see you again I know I will we had been together before, we will be together again and if you are somewhere else if you see my sister can you tell her that I love her so much and that I miss her with such breath stealing pain. I love you, Beckstar

Ashley Bindon I know that you are still out there I don't believe anyone who says that you are dead and it's just not true.
Ashley it's me Zen and I am now 12 before you know it I'll be 16 then it will be a full 10 years since you have left, Me, Kaz, Ian, Pa, Mum and Michael. Keia passedaway last year it's been so hard for our family with you gone and Keia and our dog Sid dies about 2 years ago since you left it's so different and with your mum she still hasn't stopped looking for you.
I have lots of friends in Year 7 besides from the nerds and stuff I'm going to Brendans for when I go to High School.
Please Ashley come home we need you, I need you.
I love you Ashley, Zen

Hi Jeni, just wondering if there is a facebook page for Ash now? Might be an idea considering how viral things spread on there nowadays. I worked at Fairfax and saw Ash everyday as part of his financial chores, we spoke a couple of times but mostly I would hide in my desk and blush as he stood near me. He had a way and I guess I had a mini crush. Hope you're well, I do check on here now and then to see if there's any news. Hoping there will be some soon.

Nobody has ever made me laugh the way ash could. I often saw in you a desire for a life less ordinary. I wouldn't be surprised if u had stowed away in a cargo ship and begun another life somewhere.
You gave me some good advice.... the best being "read a book u might learn something" :)
I'm lucky to have known you and at such a young age meeting u, u always sorta felt like another brother.
Where ever you are, what ever you are doing.... I just hope you are happy and are living that life less ordinary...
i've dreamt of you from time to time and in those dreams u appear to be content. Take your time in whatever it is u have to do out there. To hear of your return or safety would fill me and many others with joy and relief. Never forget you are loved for who you are.
Sending you good vibes and a safe trip home someday. We'll all be here... We'll all understand. You don't have to say a single word other than what you want to.

Ash Christmas is on the rise yet again and I hope this one will bring you home. I am going to Grandma and Grandads, yes they are still going strong, Grandad now 88. They love you so much and can't wait for your return. Grandad has the book you last gave him buy his side and he asks me to look at it a lot, he forgets he has show it to me so many times. He waves the baton every time a Military tattop comes on tele and remembers the amazing night you had together. Grandma, she cries most your birthday and Christmas. I can hardly talk to them or to anyone my amazing sadness of not having you around. I could go on and on about the sadness your missing brings to so many. I am going to a Korean BBQ to date at Sarahs and I am sure many of your friends will be there. I think me being there is having a little bit of you maybe, as I know me being with them allows me to have a bit of you with me, maybe its reversed who knows. I won't embarace you I promise, but now you would be so much older, me having a laugh with your friends would no longer embarace. I can't believe how many time my mind is filled with you and all the things I would love to tell you and all the sorries if I slipped up during our busy journey and all the thanks yous for all the great times we had. Please come home soon I have so many stories to share. Love you all the time. Love Mum!!!xxxxx

By chance I saw an old familar face in "missing persons". I stopped and looked at his face for ages... and I knew this face. Exactly as it was in that picture. Then I looked at the name and I rolled it over my tongue... and then it came to me. I met this lovely man at the Beachfront Hotel in Nightcliff, N.T some years ago. I cannot remember the year, but I do remember Ashley. I remember him in the pool hall at the tavern and he was by himself. We introduced ourselves and socialised. I recall he was softly spoken and incredibly polite. And he wasn't much good at pool. Although I think he mentioned fishing quite a bit. I do recall he looked like a sotherner...he was not tanned, and I think he had not been in Darwin long. But he facinated me all the same because he had a lovely presence about him and an air of mystery. I enjoyed his company. In hindsight, I think he may have been lonely or looking for something - a personal sabbatical maybe. I sensed this about him. I cannot recall why he was in Darwin or what he was doing at the time. I ran into Ashley again - I think at the Beachfront, if not another venue in Darwin some time after that (possibly months). I remember I had not seen him in a long time and we greeted like long friends and socialised on this occasion tooo. I may have run into Ashley on another occassion after this, but I am not sure as it was so long ago. Years ago before 2005.

I can only say that the picture of him (with facial hair) in missing persons is exactly how he looked when I met him in Darwin.

I hope he just on a sabbatical or the like. I hope you find him safe and well.

If I can remember anything more that may be helpful, I will pass it on to you.

God Bless.

Kym
